Berry Picking

During berry season there are lots of berry’s to pick.  We have Raspberries, blueberries, salmon berries, watermelon berries, and currants.  They are great source of nutruients and taste great.  Blueberries are possibly the healthiest fruit there is.  They are ranked number one in antioxidant capacity.  While, raspberries do not have any fat, saturated fat, sodium or cholesterol.  Raspberries also help lower blood preasure.  Salmon berries has bright pink flowers with five petals, usually blooms in April and May.  Watermelon berries have long leaves and are also called twisted stalk.  A cup of red currants contains only 63 calories and less than 1 g of fat.
